Does it work or does it not? SWORKIT App Review

How SWORKIT has FINALLY got me up and moving!

So, I’ve been a member of 7 different gyms over the years, since getting out of college. An unprecedented occurrence… Right?!

None of them actually did much for me. Another first!

Long and short, and I’m sure it doesn’t take much to realize that the GYMS weren’t the problem. I was the problem!

I never got to the gyms. Or I would for a month here, few months there. Once a week, twice… twice in a month I may have gotten there four times in a week, and I was MARVELED at my performance!

I’ve never been able to maintain a consistent workout routine that lasted longer than intervals between initial motivation and my first time getting sick or a mild injury. Typical story…

But last spring, a guy named John Lee Dumas, creator of the hit podcast, Entrepreneur on Fire, started talking about the 7-Minute Workout. He did a Youtube video of him doing it, and bragged out about how it has worked so well keeping him working out daily, and consistently for the first time in his life, post Army. I was interested enough to check it out and give it a try. So, I started doing this workout daily for about a week and a half.

GOOD NEWS? I had worked out every day for almost two weeks.

BAD NEWS? I was doing the exact same thing every single day for almost two weeks.

I was getting bored already. So I started to work out less often! Then less. then less…

Then I was sitting around, watching Shark Tank reruns, and saw a startup called SWORKIT, a workout app that creates randomly created workouts ranging from 5 minutes all the way up to however long you want it. It was founded by Ryan Hanna, Benjamin Young, and Gregory Coleman. Young and Coleman were the presenters on Shark Tank.

Intriguing?! I thought so.

I decided to download it and give it a try. That was July 6, 2017. As of this writing, I have not yet missed a single day of working out! More than half of the days have been the minimum 5 minute daily random workout that they call “Fit in 5.” Other routines focusing on strength, cardio, yoga, etc…

As of October 2, 2017, the date of this writing, I’ve lost 16 pounds and 4 and a half percent body fat! Not to mention, I’ve found myself working out every day for 84 days in a row!

Needless to say, I think it’s working! The range of workouts available is incredible for someone like me that gets bored very easily. Oh by the way, the 7-Minute Workout routine that got my brain headed in this direction is available in the app! So no loss there by switching to SWORKIT.

Now, SWORKIT is a tool like any other tool. It just happens to work for me. If anyone reading this downloaded it the day they saw it Shark Tank, and haven’t opened it since… one could claim a different level of effectiveness.

You’ve got to use the tools at your disposal and, WAY WAY WAY more importantly is to find tools you want to use in the first place. I’ve found mine! After 17 years of looking!

What’s your fitness tool of choice? I’m curious to find others that work for people so I can feature them here on the blog, and maybe get the founders to join us on the podcast. Let me know!

Until next time, keep on moving… one little step at a time!

Thanks for reading this post. I appreciate you!
